Richard Onorato, MBA
Vice President, Pharmacovigilance Operations and Strategic Alliances

Rich has a 25-year record of contributing to the organizational success of healthcare providers, payers, pharmaceutical companies and healthcare technology solutions vendors. He has held management positions in operations, product marketing, and business development.

Rich rejoined Sentrx in July 2006 after spending two years with Advanced Data Systems as Vice President of Operations.  There he directed Customer Service, introducing new technologies and methodologies to improve service and profitability.  From 2002-2006, Rich was Director of Operations for Sentrx. His responsibilities included leading, motivating, training and optimizing staff to efficiently support outsourced pharmacovigilance services for pharmaceutical clients. He was also responsible for all new client initiation activities.

Previously, Rich served as Vice President, Product Management, for WebMD/CareInsite. He defined Web-based products for managed-care EDI transactions and services, including product requirements, user workflows, features and functions, pricing and development timelines. In addition, Rich led a strategic initiative to rationalize all physician and hospital EDI products available through WebMD’s acquired subsidiaries, recommending product enhancements and implementing migration plans that resulted in a 90% customer retention rate.

Prior to WebMD/CareInsite, Rich was a Senior Consultant at Shared Medical Systems Corporation, where he led project teams to re-engineer business processes for major hospitals, physician groups and home health customers that effectively reduced costs and accounts receivables.

Rich also held a number of operational positions in the health care provider setting, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hackensack Medical Center, and with EDI providers.  Rich earned a B.A. from Drew University in 1981 and an M.B.A. from Fordham University in 1992, where he graduated with honors.

In his current position, Rich will be responsible for enhancing Sentrx drug safety offerings through strategic alliances.
