Medical Communication Specialist (MCS)

Drug safety is one of the hottest areas in the biopharmaceutical industry and Sentrx is the leading provider of pharmacovigilance services for large-, mid-, and small-sized pharma companies. The MCS will be an integral member of the newly created Medical Affairs Department at Sentrx. The MCS is a high exposure position that operates under strict FDA regulations and GMP guidelines. The primary responsibility of the MCS is to provide best-in-class intake and customer service as the first line of contact for the healthcare community and the public on behalf of our contracted pharmaceutical clients. The MCS develops and facilitates the expeditious flow of accurate and fair balanced medical information and assumes the role of a “medical information expert.” The MCS will handle all verbal and written drug/medical information (MI), adverse events (AEs), and product quality complaints (PQCs).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide single-touch triage methodology to the caller for all MI, AE & PQC calls
  • Ensure complete and accurate data intake function regardless of channel of communication specified by the client
  • Evaluate and process adverse events (AE) and product quality complaints (PQC) in accordance with GMP and FDA regulations
  • Respond to medical/technical inquiries from HCPs and consumers on client products
  • Knowledgeable on medical literature, GMP/FDA regulations, and client-specific issues
  • Conduct search of the published literature to obtain answers to inquiries not established in FAQs
  • Create written responses to callers' requests for medical information
  • Provide evidence-based information to decision-makers to assist with the proper use of client products
  • Create and maintain FAQ database
  • Provide answer to “on-label” inquiries using FAQs and PIs
  • Diffuse dissatisfied or hostile callers
  • Respond to media crisis and/or product recalls involving client products
  • Manage high workload volume
  • Identified opportunities for improving process and overall customer experience
  • Provide superior customer service while maintaining 100% compliance

The ideal candidate will have superb verbal and communication skills, excellent people skills to satisfy callers, excellent time management skills and multitasking abilities, and will be detail oriented with highly motivated problem solving skills.

RPh, PharmD, or MD is required, active licensure in any state.
